Today, 4th graders in Ms. Weston's class learned about Election Day. They researched the candidates running for President and discussed the electoral college. Students also participated in a mock election about which cookies are better: Chocolate chip or Oreos. Finally, they had our own class president election and students gave reasons why they would make a good class president.

Mrs. Abramo's 8th grade students worked together to answer and discuss questions related to the novel, "The Wednesday Wars".

Halloween fun this Saturday in Fairview!

Mrs. May's 4th grade students built prisms which separated white light into colors by refraction in Science lab. Students worked in groups and observed colors of the rainbow that were produced by using a flashlight, white paper, a mirror, and a bin of water. Students angled the flashlight towards the mirror to produce the colorful light and recorded their observations in their Science Workbooks.

Students at Number Three School wore red today in honor of Fire Prevention Week as Fire Official Pat taught them all about fire safety. Some things they learned about included the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, smoke detectors, and making an escape plan. We would like to thank the Fairview Fire Department for the engaging presentation and for the Fire Safety kits!
