Students at Number Three School wore red today in honor of Fire Prevention Week as Fire Official Pat taught them all about fire safety. Some things they learned about included the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, smoke detectors, and making an escape plan. We would like to thank the Fairview Fire Department for the engaging presentation and for the Fire Safety kits!

Number Three School awarded their first ever September Staff Member of the Month! A Golden Apple is given to the winning staff member at the end of the month after votes are tallied that have been cast by their colleagues. This month our winner of the Golden Apple is Pauline Grandov, who was proudly born and raised in Fairview! Ms. Pauline has been here at Number Three School for the past 15 years. During that time she has been a classroom aide, lunch aide, and is currently our Clerk. She has previously been awarded Support Staff Member of the Year and was recognized for saving a student that was choking. She plays a vital role in maintaining Attendance and informing parents of our policy. She is "The Voice of #3 School" especially during the end of the day announcements. In addition, she is always willing to help any staff member without hesitation. Her positive, upbeat, and kind-hearted spirit shines and makes our students and staff smile everyday! On this day 23 years ago, our country faced an unimaginable tragedy that forever changed our history. As a school community near the heart of where these events unfolded, we honor the courage of first responders, the strength of survivors, and the memory of those who lost their lives.
Together, we teach our students not just about the events of 9/11, but also about resilience, unity, and hope in the face of adversity. Let us continue to support one another and spread kindness in their memory.
