🍋📚 A Sweet Celebration of Reading
Students at Number Three School recently completed an exciting One Book, One School reading adventure with The Lemonade War! Throughout the journey, every student joined together in reading the same book, while staff members brought the story to life by recording read-aloud videos of each chapter. The excitement culminated this week when Mrs. Kushi hosted a special livestream reading of the final chapter, allowing the entire school to celebrate the book's thrilling conclusion together.
To mark the end of this unforgettable experience, students enjoyed a refreshing Lemonade Celebration. The fun didn't stop there! Mrs. McGrath and staff members delighted students with an incredible bubble show that filled the air with wonder and excitement as everyone sipped lemonade and celebrated their shared reading success.
It was a joyful day filled with literacy, laughter, and school spirit—proving that when our school reads together, we learn, grow, and create lasting memories together! 🍋✨📖🎉
Sayra Avila is Finally Named Our "Golden Apple" Winner!!!
Miss Sayra has been an aide in our self-contained classrooms for the last two years. She has a unique talent for working with special needs children, which includes compassion, patience, a sense of humor, and kindness. Her students adore her. Miss Sayra works will with her classroom teachers. She is willing to do just about anything and will offer to help without being asked. She is a team player without question. She has a ready smile that brightens everyone's day. She is an integral part of the #3 School Annex Community. Ms. Sayra brings positive energy to the school everyday. We all love her!

Students at Number Three School proudly celebrated America 250 today with a special program honoring our nation's history and heritage. Students filled the air with patriotic songs, while members of American Legion Post 365 joined us for this meaningful occasion. Winners of the America 250 Writing Contest shared their inspiring speeches, and our fourth-grade students presented on the evolution of the American flag and the significance of the Declaration of Independence.
Dressed in red, white, and blue, students, staff, families, and community members came together in a spirited celebration of our country's 250th anniversary. It was a wonderful day of learning, reflection, and patriotism that showcased the pride and unity of our school community.
Our talented 3rd and 4th grade students at Number Three School have been working incredibly hard to become young authors! After spending weeks writing, illustrating, and creating their very own books, it was time to celebrate their amazing accomplishments.
A special thank you to our Library teacher, Ms. Moscato, for organizing a wonderful Reading Carnival! Students were thrilled to share their books with classmates, showcase their creativity, and enjoy a day filled with games, music, and fun.

Valerie Iovino is Our May "Golden Apple" Winner! Ms. Iovino is our behavior analyst. A behavioral analyst studies how actions, feelings, and environmental factors interact. They use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to design personalized plans that replace challenging behaviors with positive, helpful ones. Ms. Iovino works hard each and every day in classrooms where the students/teachers need her help most.
Despite the daily challenges she faces, Ms. Iovino brings a ready smile and a sense of humor with her to the school. She is very kind, empathetic and nurturing with the students. She is collaborative and works well with the staff. The school is a a brighter place with Ms. Iovino in it!!!
Our Multicultural Celebration at Number Three School was a beautiful showcase of the diversity that makes our school community so special! “One World, One Goal, One Dance” brought students, families, and staff together to celebrate cultures from around the world through music, dance, and tradition. Students had an amazing time proudly representing their family heritage and learning about the many cultures that make up our school community. It was truly a joyful celebration of unity, pride, and togetherness!
What an awesome evening we had at our 3rd Grade Math Game Night! Families and students filled the room with excitement as they tackled hands-on challenges led by our amazing Math Coach and dedicated teachers.
Highlights included:

🎲Dice Bingo – strategic number fun with dice rolls
🔸Tangram Challenge – recreating the bird silhouette with geometric pieces
✖️Multiplication Battle – quick-thinking multiplication duels to win the battle
⭐️Star Challenge – solving number grid puzzles
🤔Genius Square – completing tricky grid puzzles
Everyone rotated through the stations, laughing, learning, and building math confidence together!

As they stepped into the world of 19th-century rural life, students didn’t just learn about the past—they experienced it. From crafting candles and exploring a one-room schoolhouse to visiting a historic firehouse and trying their hand at printmaking, every stop sparked curiosity and excitement. Laughter filled the air as they played old-fashioned games, connecting with the simple joys of another era. It was an inspiring journey through the roots of American industry and innovation—and a perfect way to celebrate and learn during this special America 250 year!

Our 4th graders had an unforgettable day filled with wonder and discovery at the American Museum of Natural History! From the awe-inspiring show in the planetarium to standing in the shadow of magnificent dinosaurs and exploring the fascinating exhibits, the excitement was truly electric.
